In every home, there are wall surfaces subject to dirt that persistently remains on the wall. When our home is full of children’s joy or pets keep us company, it is even more difficult to maintain the cleanliness of the wall surfaces. In such cases, we recommend that you use JUB interior washable paints. Wall surfaces painted with washable paints can be easily cleaned and thus remain pleasing to the eye. Therefore, frequent repainting is not necessary, which means that we save time and money.
Washable paints are a great choice because:
- they form a stronger film than normal paints, so they are more resistant to wet, even brush rubbing;
- they have very little effect on the substrate’s vapor permeability;
- they increase the quality of living, as the substrates can be wiped and thus remain clean for a longer time.
According to the SIST EN 13300 standard, there are 5 classes of washability, whereby class 1 is a completely washable paint and class 5 is a completely non-washable paint. In practice, this means that paints that belong to class 1 in terms of washability can be regularly wiped with a damp soft cloth soaked in a solution of common household cleaning agents. On the other hand, with paints that belong to class 2 in terms of washability, only a small stain can be wiped locally with a damp cloth.
JUPOL washable paints
Applying washable paint to the wall is as easy as with classic paint, and the advantage of washable paint is only in cleaning. Depending on your individual exposure on the walls with stains, we recommend a selection of washable interior wall paints from the JUPOL family:
Type of washability | Areas | We recommend |
Class 1, very washable paint | Kitchen, dining room, hall, corridor, staircase, bathroom |
|
Class 2, resistant to wet wiping | Kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom |
|
In addition to white, you can choose from different colour shades, which are mixed according to your choice on one of the JUMIX tinting stations. You can also add a colour shade to the washable paint yourself by choosing a DIPI concentrate (tinting agent).
Does the washable paint "close" the wall?
Absolutely not. The so-called “wall breathing” is measured by the vapor permeability of the paint film on a three-level scale. All the JUPOL family paints belong to the category of very and medium vapor permeable paints, as the thickness of the paint film is extremely small and thus has a minimal effect on vapor permeability. Wall breathing is an important element for external walls in the context of thermal insulation systems, but the paint film itself has almost no impact.
