An interesting and fashionable appearance of raw concrete can be created with a palette of gray shades and the Beton look decorative technique. The technique is very popular in the case of the increasingly popular industrial style, which exposes elements that other styles want to hide. At the same time, it strives to minimalism.

Technique instructions

Surface Preparation:

  1. The surface must be dry, solid, and free from oil stains and similar impurities.
  2. Apply a 5% diluted solution of JUBIZOL Unigrund using a roller or brush.

Technique Application:

  1. Mix a 20 kg bag of DECOR Beton Look with 4.4 – 4.6 liters of water. After 10 minutes, mix again and add more water if needed.
  2. Using a stainless steel trowel, apply the mixture in a layer slightly thicker than the grain size of the mixture (application area is 6-10 m²).
  3. Using a CREATIV roller and decorative brush, create a pockmarked texture on the fresh layer of the material.
  4. After 10-15 minutes, once the material has partially dried, remove any protruding particles with a soft broom, then lightly smooth the surface with a stainless steel trowel and leave to dry.
  5. With a decorative glove, apply 10% diluted SILICATECOLOR in the desired shade in circular motions. Soon after application (while still fresh), gently rub the color in with a sponge, being careful not to remove it from the surface. Let it dry for 6 hours, and if necessary, apply a second or third coat in the same manner. If only one coat is applied, allow the color to dry for 12 hours.
  6. Once the surface painted with SILICATECOLOR is dry, apply DECOR Antique with a decorative glove in circular motions and let it dry for 6 hours. If you want to highlight the “spotty” effect and stronger contrast between the base and top layers, apply DECOR Antique in two layers.
