New! 16 shades of off-WHITE
Pure white is the most common choice in interiors, as it is easy to combine with other shades and furniture. Since it reflects light, it visually enlarges the space and gives it a feeling of purity and brightness. However, classic white can appear cold and sterile in a room. On sunny days, the light reflecting off the walls can be too bright and blinding. Off-white, which is white with a grey or beige undertone, is a great solution to this problem. New off-white shades are available in higher-end interior paints.
Why choose off-white??
Because compared to pure white, it:
- Has character,
- Is warm,
- Reflects different wavelengths,
- Is cozy, soft,
- Builds on depth.
But also, because it:
- Beautifully brightens up older interiors,
- Softens the intensity and purity of white;
- Creates a more calming environment, and
- Adds a softer look to the space.

How to choose the right shade of white?
- White with cool undertones (blue, grey, purple, green, or black) is the best choice for rooms facing south. These have a lot of natural daylight, so choosing cooler undertones will balance the warmth. Cooler shades also take away the heat of the strong sun in the summer, add calm and make small rooms appear larger.
- White with warm undertones (red, yellow) is suitable for rooms facing north, which in most cases have cooler and less intense light.
Little tricks to a trendy home:
- It is good to remember that undertones are enhanced by the type of natural and artificial light that a room receives. They can also be influenced by the contents of the room (furniture), which will reflect on the walls, changing the appearance of the colour shade.
- If you are going to combine an off-white decoration with other white tones, make sure to use a mix of lighter and darker tones.
- By including black in your ambiance, you can create an avant-garde living room. It will create a clear contrast with the white and a neutral look full of subtlety and elegance.
- You can also add colour by decorating the walls with paintings or plants, thus adding a touch of green. Brightly coloured sofas, pillows and other pieces of furniture are also great for creating contrast.
