A new trend in interior design: off-white colour shades

Our living environment has a significant impact on our well-being. The amount of sunlight regulates our circadian rhythm, the quality of the air affects our health, and the materials and colours we surround ourselves with, with their properties and finishes, affect acoustics, glare and appeal of touch, and thus our quality of life. The growing awareness of the importance of the living environment on our well-being is also reflected in trends, as architects and interior designers devote more and more time to research and the implementation of healthy and sustainable practices.

The importance of colours on our well-being

The colours we surround ourselves with contribute to our well-being. The psychology of colours says that colours can stimulate certain behaviour, reactions and also our emotions – either positive or negative.

Colour can also be used to optically correct a space, create a sense of greater depth, balance the colour palette, regulate shine, and create different atmospheres. The selection of colour also tells a lot about our character. Therefore, the colour of the walls, which represent the largest surface of our home, should not be seen as a decorative accent, but rather as the foundation of the ambiance we create.

Neutral but expressive: the colours of warm minimalism

To create a calm ambience, always bet on subtle colour shades, which will leave the protagonist role to noble natural materials. Choose slightly pigmented colour shade of white that (unlike pure white) will bring your home closer to the natural environment with its reflections, shadows and subtle nuances. We are talking about off-white colour shades.

Off-white colour shades are already renowned abroad – decades ago, the classic white wall paint gave way to colours such as ivory, icy, or creamy white, and the colours of eggshell, ricotta, and mascarpone, which bring subtle warmth and eternal elegance into the ambiance. Now they are also available here, as they are mixed for you at all JUMIX tinting stations.

At JUB, we divided the off-white colour shades into various groups: warmer (cotton, alabaster, jasmine), cooler (icy, the colour of salt or kefir), neutral (lace, pearl, tofu) and pink (ricotta, powder, basmati). These are gentle shades of white, but they have many advantages over their non-pigmented sister. The new off-white colour shades are available in interior paints of a higher price segment, which also includes the premium interior washable paint JUPOL Gold.

Off-white: more character, soft shadows, and pleasant living sensations

White shades are versatile, as they can serve as a long-term foundation for the changing styles and colours of our equipment. They also optically enlarge the space, as they reflect natural light and go well both in modern, refined homes and in rustic and countryside environments.
